Hotels in Favignana: tips for choosing

This mini-study is dedicated to my friends and all readers of “Italy for Me” inspired by my trips to Sicily with Yana.

The island of Favignana is only 30 minutes sailing from the port of Trapani and in my opinion is an ideal option for a quiet and relaxing holiday on the sea in Italy. An indisputable trump card are about a dozen incredibly beautiful bays, among which the amazing Cala Rosa, one of the top 10 beaches of Italy.

What to do on the island of Favignana?

  • Visit the Tuna Museum
  • Cycling around the island, as we did in June 2014
  • Gather a collection of photographs and vintage cars, the concentration of which on the island rolls over.

Today, with a real example, we will look at accommodation options on this island of Italy, one of the most poorly studied by domestic tourists.

Hotel selection

So, in the courtyard on July 7, 2014, our task is to find a hotel on the island of Favignana, for example, from September 22 to 26 (4 nights, 5 days). September and October, in my opinion, are the perfect time to relax in Sicily. There are not so many tourists, the sea is warm, the choice of hotels is good - what more could you want? Traditionally, the season begins in May, and bathe here almost until mid-November.

You need to count on the cost of the room from 80 to 150 euros per day. Alternatively, you can take a closer look at the villas and apartments - they will be slightly more affordable.

View all hotel options in Favignana

On the one hand, where to live on the island is unprincipled since, having rented a bike for 5 euros per day, you can go around the whole island in an hour, but I would prefer to stay near the port. All the same, all restaurant and cultural life is concentrated there.

We will consider these options:

Aegusa hotel

Aegusa Hotel this 3-star hotel is clean, neat, in the very center of the city with only 26 rooms.

Tempo di mare

Tempo Di Mare - view from the rooms of the Mediterranean Sea and the island of Levanzo. The central square is about 200 meters. The hotel is very decent and most likely would have fallen out of our review, but since we look at suitable options for booking for almost 3 and a half months, there is a smart offer - 480 euros for 4 nights, taking into account the fact that this room originally costs 1312 euros. The solution to such a low price is that the entire amount is withdrawn from the card at the time of booking and you will not succeed in changing plans. So if you are an amateur (nice) to change your mind several times before the trip, then you should choose a more expensive option for 600 euros with a free cancellation in 4 days. I would not consider the option with half board for 840 euros, because for the difference of 240 euros, you can have a decent dinner all days of your stay and even stay on ice cream.

I pretti resort

I Pretti Resort - again a luxury option, 4 stars with views of the Mediterranean Sea. The hotel has a total of 16 rooms. Again, pay attention to smart offers, although here it is not so significantly different from the option with free cancellation. 680 euros for 4 nights - this is the most expensive of the options we found. Yes, Sicily is quite accessible.

The options considered are very worthy and are perfect for a relaxing, romantic holiday with your loved one. As an idea, make a surprise for your soulmate and go here on your honeymoon.

Cave bianche hotel

And finally, I would like to draw your attention to the Cave Bianche Hotel located just 20 meters from the azure bay (Calla Azzurra). On a bicycle we got here for about 20 minutes. If you have a lot of things, the cost of a taxi should not exceed 20 euros. Also, when making a reservation, you can write in the comment on the order for a transfer from the port. In our dates, here again, a smart offer - 680 euros for 4 nights. Your soulmate will be grateful.

I hope this hotel review is useful for planning your holidays in Favignana and Sicily. I will be glad to answer your questions in the comments.

Ravioli - mastodon of Italian cuisine

Ravioli (Ravioli) - mastodon of Italian cuisine. And although for us it is, rather, foreign dumplings, Italians position them as a type of pasta with filling. But in any case, the dish is popular all over the world. In various regions of Italy, it has its own "twin cities." For example, in Piedmont - Agnolotti, in Mantua - Tortelli, and in Romagna - Cappelletti.
