On the beach of Veneto banned smoking

Tobacco lovers who try to smoke a cigarette on one of the most popular beaches on the Adriatic coast will be fined 50 euros as soon as the new law comes into force.

Local authorities in Bibione supported the first ban on smoking on the beach in Italy, which would protect fans of the sun and sunburn from cigarette smoke, as well as protect the environment. This measure refers to a 9-kilometer beach that stretches along the coast of the area, where children often relax and play. However, smokers can still indulge in their addiction on their sun loungers, as well as at some distance from the non-smoking area.

Pasqualino Codognotto, Mayor of Bibione, emphasized that the innovation is not intended to be a “punishment”, but a “means of reminding about the dangers of smoking.” “We want the beach in Bibione to be a great place to preserve the pristine nature,” said Codognotto. The initiative was endorsed by the World Health Organization and the Italian Ministry of Health. Moreover, 92 percent of the 1,500 locals surveyed called for a ban on smoking on the beach, where they had already placed a banner with the words "Respire il mare", which translates as "Breathe the sea air." Authorities in the region claim that cigarettes make up 27 percent of the garbage left by tourists on the beach.

Meanwhile, another Italian beach also seeks to please visitors by encouraging relaxation with animals. In May, the beach for dogs was opened in the resort town of Rimini, where tourists without charming brothers are simply not allowed to go.

In an amazing place called “Rimini Dog - No Problem” (www.bagno81rimini.it/en/dog-beach) umbrellas and sun loungers are offered to four-legged sunbathing enthusiasts, where dogs can fully enjoy their holidays. The idea of creating an unusual beach belonged to Marco and Luca Agostini (Marco, Luca Agostini), who often visit their own beach with their dogs. “Every year we receive more and more requests from tourists to create places of rest where they could come with animals,” Agostini explains. In addition to the beach for dogs, Rimini also has a four-star pet-friendly hotel.

It is worth noting that the Italians give our smaller brothers a sufficient amount of attention and care. For example, Milanese families with low incomes this spring got the opportunity to take their pets to the veterinarian without paying a cent. City Hall of Milan announced a new “pet house” at the end of March, explaining that the new pet clinic will provide its services free of charge to poor families who will receive a certificate of service for three years.

Earlier, scandalous ex-Prime Minister of Italy Silvio Berlusconi called for respect for animals. “We have to find moms and dads for thousands of abandoned cats and dogs,” said the politician, whose dog is very popular on social networks.
